Akufo-Addo asked to sack National Identification Authority boss

The leadership of the National Health Insurance Authority (NIA) Division of the Public Services Workers Union (PSWU) has petitioned the presidency for the removal of the Executive Secretary of the Authority, Prof Kenneth Attafuah.

In a letter dated July 1, 2024, addressed to the Executive Secretary at the Office of the President, the leaders said their petition has been necessitated by persistent unfair labour practices within the organisation among other issues.

“The staff and union decision to petition your high office for the removal of Professor Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah is grounded on unfair labour practices contrary to the labour laws and Human Resource Manual and Policy Framework for Ghana Public Services, Violations of SSNIT law, Poor corporate governance structure, selective and administrative injustice in the recruitment, placement and promotion of staff, and lack of innovative ideas to manage the administration of the Authority,” parts of the petition signed by Kwabena Adu Kyeremeh and Francis Nyuzaghi read.
