Asante Kotoko set to part ways with 32-year-old midfielder

Kumasi-based giants Asante Kotoko are set to part ways with experienced midfielder Justice Blay in the coming days after a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.

According to sources within the club, the decision was reached amicably between the player and management. While an official statement is yet to be released, both parties are finalising the paperwork, with an announcement expected soon.

Blay rejoined Kotoko in 2021 after a standout loan spell from Medeama SC and became a key figure in the midfield, earning praise for his strong tackles, calm presence on the ball, and leadership qualities.

He is reportedly close to sealing a move to an unnamed Algerian club, which has prompted the early end to his stay with the Porcupine Warriors.

His departure is the latest in a series of expected changes at Kotoko, as the club prepares to rebuild its squad ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
