This appeal came from Margaret Atobrah, President of the Women’s Fellowship of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in the Obuasi Tutuka District, during a thanksgiving service to close their 6th annual conference in the Obuasi East Municipality, Ashanti Region.

Speaking to Adom News, Madam Atobrah stressed the need for fathers to be actively involved in raising their children. She said when men neglect their roles, children often end up on the streets and become exposed to crimes like drug use and robbery.

Rev. E. K. Nyarko, District Minister of the Church, also raised concerns about the lack of support from many men at home, forcing women to carry the burden alone.

He noted that while many men speak about morals publicly, their actions often don’t match their words. According to him, children tend to show more appreciation to their mothers than their fathers, as seen in the more vibrant celebration of Mother’s Day compared to Father’s Day.

He called on men to change their attitude to help build a more secure and stable society.
