If you chose Napo as Bawumia’s running mate you will lose the elections – NPP warned

From the analytical point of view, lawyer Maurice Ampaw has stated that Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s chance of becoming Bawumia’s running mate has been shattered.

The renowned lawyer stated that the Energy Minister has recently become the centre of controversy and division in the Ashanti region and that has affected his chance of being named as running mate.

“He has become the centre of controversy and division in Ashanti region. He hasn’t come out to speak but people around him are creating problem for him. His followers are too desperate”, he pointed out.

Delivering a monologue on Wontumi TV, lawyer Ampaw stated that people around Matthew Opoku Prempeh popularly known as Napo, are rather threatening the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Bawumia, to pick their candidate at all cost.

“Napo is a nice, gentle, young and intelligent. He has worked at both the Education and Energy ministry and more over qualified to be vice president but people have destroyed his chance of becoming a vice president”, he said.

He explained that when it comes to naming a running mate, the flagbearer shouldn’t be openly lobbied like the followers of Napo are doing.

“They are threatening Bawumia with his name. You don’t lobby for the vice president position. Since 1992, Goosie Tanoh and co tried lobbying to be named as running mate to Rawlings but he didn’t choose any of them. Atta Mills didn’t choose those who lobbied him and Mahama also did the same. Nana Addo chose somebody who didn’t lobby him”, he said and urged Bawumia to use that same blueprint.
