Bono Region: Interior Minister renews curfew hours for Sampa

The Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, has announced that the curfew in Sampa Township, located in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region, has been renewed.

The new curfew hours will take effect from Thursday, June 5, 2025, and will run every night from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.

This decision was made based on advice from the Bono Regional Security Council and was issued under an Executive Instrument.

The government is calling on chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, and the youth in Sampa to stay calm during this difficult period. They are being urged to use peaceful and non-violent means to address any issues in the community and to work together for lasting peace.

Additionally, the government has announced a total ban on carrying weapons in the area.

“No one is allowed to carry guns, ammunition, or any dangerous weapons in Sampa,” a statement from the Interior Ministry warned. “Anyone caught with such items will be arrested and prosecuted.”
