BREAKING: Asante Kotoko to appoint a white coach

Asante Kotoko are set to appoint a white coach as their new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 season, as part of a broader reshuffle of the club’s technical team, report SportyGhana.com.

This decision follows the breakdown of talks to confirm Karim Zito as the permanent head coach. Zito, who served in an interim role after Prosper Narteh Ogum‘s departure midway through the season, will now take up the position of Technical Director. In this new role, he will be responsible for shaping the club’s football philosophy, overseeing youth development, and guiding long-term technical plans.

According to sources from Ghanasportspage.com, talks with the new foreign coach are at an advanced stage, and an official announcement is expected soon. In addition, the club has engaged another experienced Ghanaian coach to support the technical team.

The club’s management is said to be focused on hiring a coach with international pedigree to lead Kotoko back to success. Once appointed, the new head coach’s first task will be to lead the team on a pre-season tour in South Africa.
