BREAKING: Thomas Partey due to get married in Spain tomorrow
Thomas Partey was reportedly set to tie the knot on Saturday, just a day after being officially charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault by the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
On Friday, July 4, 2025, the CPS announced that Partey faces five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, involving complaints from three different women. The charges follow a police investigation that has spanned more than three years.
The timing of the announcement coincided with two major developments in Partey’s personal and professional life. It came just four days after his contract with Arsenal expired, marking the end of his time at the Premier League club. And, notably, it was revealed that the charges were filed just a day before he was scheduled to get married in Spain.
Partey had been engaged to English model and influencer Janine Mackson since mid-2024. Earlier that same year, the couple welcomed a daughter. Their relationship became public after the 2023–24 football season when Partey introduced Mackson and their baby to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, in a moment captured by cameras after the club fell short of winning the league title.
In June, Mackson shared photos from what appeared to be her bachelorette celebration in Ibiza, captioning them “A weekend full of love.” The post, liked by Partey, seemed to suggest that wedding plans were still on track at the time.
As of Thursday, sources confirmed that Partey was in Spain, but it remains unclear whether the wedding took place as planned or was postponed due to the charges.
Neither Arsenal nor Partey’s representatives have commented publicly on the matter yet. However, Partey’s legal team issued a statement through Sky News, strongly denying all allegations.
“Thomas Partey denies all the charges against him. He has fully cooperated with the police and CPS throughout their three-year investigation. He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name. Given that there are now ongoing legal proceedings, my client is unable to comment further,” the statement read.
The developments have sent shockwaves through both the football world and the wider public, especially given the gravity of the charges and their proximity to what was meant to be a personal milestone for the midfielder. The case is now set to proceed through the courts in the UK.
