Building collapse at Cape Coast: 2 dead, three injured

Two people have died and three others have been injured after a building collapsed at London Bridge, a location in Kotokuraba, Cape Coast.

Eyewitnesses say five individuals were inside the building when it suddenly gave way.

Rescue teams managed to pull the survivors from the debris, and the injured were taken to Awim Hospital in Cape Coast for emergency care.

The cause of the collapse is still unknown, but local authorities have begun investigations into the incident.

Initial reports indicate the building was in poor condition and structurally weak.

Only part of the structure collapsed.

As a precaution, officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and the Ghana National Fire Service are demolishing the rest of the building to prevent further danger.
