Division One League club owner arrested by FBI
The owner of Division One League club PAC Academy FC, Inusah Ahmed, has been arrested by INTERPOL in collaboration with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over his alleged involvement in a transnational internet fraud scheme.
Ahmed was arrested alongside three other individuals — Isaac Oduro Boateng, Derrick Van Yeboah, and Patrick Kwame Asare — in a joint security operation that followed months of intelligence sharing between Ghanaian authorities and international law enforcement.
All four suspects are currently in custody as steps begin for their extradition to the United States, where they are expected to face trial.
According to sources close to the investigation, the suspects are believed to be part of a highly organized cybercrime syndicate responsible for scamming victims in multiple countries. The group allegedly carried out a range of online fraud activities involving identity theft, wire fraud, and money laundering.
The arrest of Inusah Ahmed has stunned many within Ghana’s football circles, especially in the Ashanti Region. His club, PAC Academy FC, is well known in the area for developing young football talent and competing in the Access Bank Division One League.
Although official charges have yet to be publicly released, investigators have indicated that the case could lead to major federal indictments in the United States, with serious legal consequences if the suspects are found guilty.
