Don’t cry when delegates vote against you – Miracles Aboagye tells Ken Agyapong
Dennis Miracles Aboagye, former Director of Communications for Dr. Bawumia’s 2024 campaign, has criticised comments made by members of Kennedy Agyapong’s camp against Dr. Bawumia, who is also vying for the NPP flagbearer position.
Speaking on Okay FM on Monday, June 9, 2025, Aboagye said he was unhappy with some of the remarks, especially those made by Kennedy Agyapong, saying such comments do not promote party unity but rather cause division.
He also refuted claims made by Kwasi Kwarteng, spokesperson for Kennedy Agyapong, that the recent “Thank You Tour” was a secret campaign for Dr. Bawumia.
“It is not in the nature of our party to wash our dirty linens in public or engage in politics of insults. It is not true that the Thank You Tour we just concluded was a campaign. All the national executives of the party participated in the tour, so, how can one say that it was a campaign?”, he said on Okay FM.
Miracles Aboagye warned that such behaviour from Kennedy Agyapong’s supporters could harm their chances in the primaries, advising them not to play the victim if the outcome doesn’t favour them.
He said NPP delegates vote based on competence and character, not tribalism or insults.
“If you go around making such claims and people vote against you, don’t turn around to play victim because the NPP delegates know their party very well. They won’t just vote based on some disparaging and insulting remarks but based on character and who can lead the party.
“Dr Bawumia has never been heard talking badly about someone just to win votes, so why would they do that? This is the same approach they took that caused them to lose the 2023 NPP primaries,” he stated.
