Don’t return to Ghana – Ken Ofori-Atta told

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, who works closely with former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing clash between the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

During an interview on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday, June 7, Aboagye said that if he were in Ofori-Atta’s shoes and feeling unwell, he would choose to stay abroad and let the court try him without him being present.

“If I were Ken, and seeing all that has been done and I am not well, I wouldn’t come. I would prefer to stay and be tried in absentia. I wouldn’t mind being placed on INTERPOL red notice,” he stated.

The OSP had declared Ofori-Atta wanted because he did not show up by the June 2 deadline to answer their questions.

Even though his lawyers gave medical proof that he has cancer, the OSP did not accept this reason. They made him wanted again and began the process to get an INTERPOL Red Notice for him.

By June 5, Ofori-Atta’s name appeared on INTERPOL’s Red Notice list, which shows information like his age, what he looks like, and the languages he can speak.
