Golden Kick FC, head coach Fiifi Parker Hanson in trouble after FA Cup defeat

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Golden Kick FC and their head coach, Nii Parker Hanson, for separate offences after their 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Asante Kotoko.

A statement from the GFA Disciplinary Committee said Coach Hanson is facing a misconduct charge over post-match comments that allegedly brought the game into disrepute. His remarks about the match officials were considered inappropriate and in violation of Division One League rules.

He has until Wednesday, June 18, 2025, to respond to the charge.

Meanwhile, Golden Kick FC has also been charged with breaching GFA Disciplinary and Division One League regulations. The club is accused of failing to control their supporters, who threw objects onto the pitch, and of posting comments on social media that targeted the match officials.

The GFA says the actions of the club and coach harmed the image of the competition.

Golden Kick FC have been charged with breaches of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019 and the Division One League Regulations, 2019 following their MTN FA Cup final match against Asante Kotoko.

It is alleged that supporters of Golden Kick FC threw objects onto the field of play during the said match.

Further, the club is alleged to have made social media commentary on the match officials, which brings the competition into disrepute.

Golden Kick FC have until Wednesday, June 18, 2025 to respond to the charges.
