Grave looters dig up the grace of 15-yr-old, removes manhood, heart at Assin Akropong
Residents of Assin Akropong in Ghana’s Central Region are in shock after the body of 15-year-old Kenneth Ampofo, who was buried just a week ago, was exhumed and found with vital organs missing.
Kenneth had died after a short illness and was laid to rest last Friday. However, his remains were discovered with the heart missing.
According to a report by Oheneba Ambrose on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Traditional leaders in the area have poured libation and offered prayers to call for justice. They also urged residents to remain calm and report any suspicious behaviour in the community.
The reporter indicated that the body had been tampered with, and the grave looters are believed to have used a knife to remove the heart, intestines, liver, and manhood.
Oheneba Ambrose said the entire community is shaken by the gruesome act, and residents are calling on the police to act swiftly and bring those responsible to justice.
Police officers have since retrieved the remains to assist in their ongoing investigation and to help track down the culprits.
