“He’s not going to be world class” – talkSPORT pundit delivers verdict on Chelsea star

Jamie O’Hara believes Nicolas Jackson will never become a world class player.

The 22 year old arrived from Spanish side Villareal for £32m last summer and is having a good debut campaign in the Premier League.

Jackson has scored 12 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions this season but has said himself he should have a lot more given the number of chances he’s missed.

The Senegalese international has been criticised for his finishing but his all round game looks very good and he has developed well this season.

His versatility has seen him effective both down the flanks and through the middle and he has probably played a lot more than many would have expected given the fact Chelsea didn’t sign a centre forward last summer and Christopher Nkunku’s injury issues.

O’Hara is actually a fan of Jackson but admitted his main concern is he just can’t see the forward becoming a world class player.

Speaking on talkSPORT about Jackson’s future he said: “He’s not going to be world class, I like him, I think he’s good. He’s got potential.”

“Do I believe he’s ever going to be a star striker in the Premier League that Chelsea need if you want to compete at the top of the table? The best teams in the Premier League are the ones that have got the best strikers.”

“Simple as that. Nicolas Jackson I don’t think is going to be that.”

It’s far to early to come to a conclusion on Jackson given he’s just 22 and it’s his first season in the league but if managed and developed in the right way he has certainly shown he can grow into a top player and be a success for Chelsea.
