HOT VIDEO: Gospel musician Mabel Okyere exposes pastors who wants to sleep with her
Gospel musician Mabel Okyere has opened up about the challenges she faces as a young and attractive woman in the gospel music industry.
She confirmed long-standing rumors that some male figures in the industry often take advantage of upcoming female artists who seek their support. According to her, the reality is that many of these men, especially those in powerful positions, try to exploit young women before offering help.
Speaking in an interview with Dave Hammer on Hello FM, Mabel Okyere shared that she has personally experienced such behavior.
She explained that gospel musicians in Ghana often work closely with pastors, as they are the ones who usually invite them to perform at events—opportunities that help them earn a living and avoid depending on handouts.
Mabel noted, “I am yet to know whether it is because I am pulchritudinous or not married because almost all the pastors want to sleep with me before they support me or better still, book me for shows.”
Despite these challenges, Mabel said she remains firm in her values and has always rejected such advances. “I spurn such advances from the men of God,” she said, adding that being unmarried doesn’t mean she’s open to being exploited.
She believes that while this kind of behavior exists in the industry, every woman has the power to choose her path. Whether a female gospel artist decides to give in to such pressure, according to her, is a personal decision.
Mabel concluded by pointing out that the issue is serious and should be openly addressed, especially when it involves respected religious and industry figures.
