If the 2024 election defeat report leaks it could blow the party apart – NPP UK Chair
Chairman of the NPP UK Branch, Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong, popularly known as Wofa K, has said it would not benefit the party to make public the contents of its fact-finding report on the reasons behind the party’s loss in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking with Dr. Ren on Drive Talk on Rainbow Radio 92.4FM, he revealed that after the party’s defeat, a decision was made to conduct an internal investigation to identify what went wrong and recommend measures to rebuild and unite the party.
Wofa K stated that the investigation uncovered many reasons for the defeat and led to several key recommendations.
He noted that the final report contains highly sensitive information, which, if released publicly, could be damaging and provide political opponents with an advantage.
“A committee was recently formed to investigate why the party lost the elections, and it uncovered several issues that contributed to our defeat. The contents of the report are sensitive, and making the entire document public would expose us to our opponents, who could use this information against us,” he stated.
He continued, “The recommendations made by the fact-finding committee are sensitive, and we cannot allow them to be made public. I don’t even think every member of the national executive has seen the report. As far as I know, only the General Secretary and the National Chairman have reviewed it. I believe it’s in our best interest not to release the contents of the report.”
Wofa K also commented on the party’s decision to hold its presidential primary on January 31, 2026.
He said the timing of the primary aligns with the NPP constitution and is part of the broader efforts to unify the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
