Justin Kodua opens up on taking Stephen Ntim’s position
General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has dismissed claims that he has taken over the role or duties of the party’s National Chairman, Stephen Ntim.
According to Mr. Frimpong, Mr. Ntim is still the duly elected leader of the party and continues to serve in that capacity.
In an interview with Channel One TV on Wednesday, 18 June, Mr. Kodua addressed what he called misconceptions about his role and level of influence in the party.
“I have not taken his job. Stephen Ntim is our National Chairman. He is the elected National Chairman of our party now,” Mr. Kodua stated.
His remarks follow rising speculation within political circles and among some party supporters that the General Secretary might be exceeding his mandate and overshadowing the chairman.
However, Mr. Kodua insisted that there is no power struggle in the NPP and that the leadership structure is firmly in place.
He reaffirmed his commitment to unity and respect for the party’s internal arrangements.
He also said he and Mr. Ntim are working together to push the NPP’s agenda ahead of the 2024 general elections.
“There is no confusion. We are all working together for the good of the party,” he added.
