Kwakye Ofosu opens up on Sansa Daly as President Mahama’s physician

The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has come out to strongly deny claims that Anne Sansa Daly ever worked as President John Dramani Mahama’s personal doctor. This comes after a social media post, believed to have been made by Sansa, went viral—suggesting she served in that role.

In an interview with Oyerepa TV on June 1, 2025, Kwakye Ofosu made it clear that there is no truth in the claim. He explained that Anne Sansa Daly has never had any medical or personal relationship with President Mahama. According to him, the President’s official physician is a well-respected and highly qualified doctor who has been working with him for many years—even before he became President.

“It is not true. I have known President Mahama’s physician, who has worked with him for several years. He is a prominent, highly qualified medical doctor. This lady [Sansa Daly] has never been close to the president before, and her claims are not true. I can tell you on authority that she has never been the president’s physician. Some people have flagged the post as fake,” the minister clarified.

Kwakye Ofosu, who also serves as the MP for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese, also addressed the issue of Anne Sansa Daly’s recent appointment to the board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA). He explained that even before the controversy over her medical qualifications came to the public’s attention, her nomination had already been withdrawn.

“The lady did not even attend the inauguration because at that time, her nomination had been withdrawn. The documents showed that her she wasn’t even having her appointment, and that goes to prove that the government took action even before the issue came out,” he continued.

The Minister explained that the government is committed to acting swiftly on public concerns and is always ready to respond when citizens raise red flags over any wrongdoing.

“As a government, we are ready to listen and act if people draw our attention to issues happening, we may not be aware of. It is a better way to serve people than to not act when you are being alerted on issues going wrong,” he added.

This issue began after a Facebook post, allegedly from Anne Sansa Daly and dated December 10, 2024, resurfaced on social media. In the post, she appeared to congratulate President Mahama on his election and expressed appreciation for having served as his personal doctor.

However, the authenticity of the post remains in doubt. Since the story broke, Anne Sansa Daly’s official Facebook account has been deactivated, making it difficult to confirm whether the post is genuine or fake. Kwakye Ofosu, in his response, hinted that the post might have been edited or fabricated by political opponents who want to damage the image of the current government.

For now, many Ghanaians remain curious about the full background of Anne Sansa Daly, especially regarding her professional credentials. But Kwakye Ofosu’s comments are meant to assure the public that President Mahama was never under her medical care and that government acted fast to prevent any embarrassment.

More updates are expected as investigations continue and authorities look into the source of the controversial post. In the meantime, the video of the interview and screenshots of the viral post have been shared widely online, sparking further debate on political vetting, transparency, and the spread of misinformation on social media.
