Lil Win ‘slap’ Diana Asamoah for mocking his Pastor Adom Kyei

Award-winning Kumawood actor Lil Win has fired back at gospel musician Evangelist Diana Asamoah for her recent attacks on Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, the founder of the popular Philadelphia Movement.

In a passionate video shared on Tuesday, June 3, 2025—captured while Lil Win was on set with a film crew—he did not hold back his frustrations. He accused Evangelist Diana Asamoah of crossing the line by attempting to criticise or discredit pastors whom others respect and follow.

Lil Win, whose real name is Kwadwo Nkansah, strongly defended Adom Kyei-Duah, describing him as a genuine spiritual leader who has impacted many lives positively. According to the comic actor, Diana Asamoah has no moral right to dictate to Ghanaians whom they should or should not follow when it comes to spiritual matters.

He stated that the youth of Ghana are wiser today and are more interested in listening to people who live by their words—those who are honest, wise, and consistent—not people who jump from one platform to another for personal gain or political favour.

Lil Win further alleged that Evangelist Diana Asamoah had abandoned her true calling as a gospel musician and evangelist, turning instead to politics and radio commentary. He said that rather than using her God-given talent to spread the gospel, she had become more involved in political activities—something he believes has led her far from her spiritual path.

In a sharp rebuke, he advised her to return to her original mission of singing and preaching, urging her to focus on ministering through gospel music rather than interfering in spiritual matters or politics.

But Lil Win didn’t stop there.

He went a step further and directly blamed Diana Asamoah for the defeat of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections. According to him, her actions during the campaign season caused major confusion and distrust among the party’s followers.

He said:

“God made you an evangelist, but you have stopped and become a politician who campaigns and hosts radio shows. I am telling you to resume preaching. Your party even lost the elections. She is to blame for the NPP’s defeat. She knows she was the one who made them totally lose the elections. She would campaign for them and later tell people to vote against them. NPP had never lost an election with only 38 percent until Diana Asamoah came.”

Lil Win suggested that Diana Asamoah was acting like a double agent, pretending to support the NPP in public, while working against them behind the scenes. He claimed that her inconsistent behaviour and controversial public comments during the election season contributed to voter apathy and mistrust.

The actor also implied that Diana Asamoah’s involvement in politics had made her lose touch with the ordinary Ghanaian, especially the youth, who once admired her for her gospel music ministry. He said many people no longer saw her as a true woman of God but rather as someone driven by political influence and personal ambition.

Lil Win’s comments come just days after Evangelist Diana Asamoah openly criticised Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah and his Philadelphia Church, accusing him of misleading people and deviating from sound Christian doctrine. She claimed that many of his followers had abandoned the core teachings of Christ and were now blindly following a movement that promotes spiritual merchandise like “Philadelphia Sobolo” rather than biblical truth.

Her statements sparked serious reactions across social media, and now, Lil Win has entered the conversation, using his influence and fan base to stand in defence of Adom Kyei-Duah.

This latest exchange adds more fire to the already heated public discourse about which churches are truly representing Christ in Ghana today, and which ones are drawing followers with flashy shows, prophetic declarations, or material goods.

Many Ghanaians online are now split between supporting Diana Asamoah’s boldness in calling out controversial practices, and backing Lil Win’s view that everyone should be allowed to follow the pastor they believe in, especially if that pastor is transforming lives.

For now, it remains to be seen whether Diana Asamoah will respond to Lil Win’s hard-hitting remarks. But one thing is clear: the debate over faith, politics, and spiritual leadership in Ghana is far from over.
