Man arrested in Tema for displaying human head in public

Police in Tema have arrested a man found carrying a human head near the Black Stars Line Harbour area.

The suspect, identified only as Ali, was caught with the human head hidden in a bag while moving around the area.

Police say the victim is believed to be a man popularly known in the community as ‘Cameroon’.

Ali, who is suspected to be mentally unstable, was picked up after concerned residents alerted authorities.

During questioning, police say Ali gave two different accounts of the incident.

In his first statement, he claimed to have had a misunderstanding with the victim, attacked him while he was asleep, hit him with a concrete block, and later beheaded him with a knife.

In a second version, Ali alleged that someone in the community asked him to get a human head, which led him to commit the act.

Following this claim, a second person has been arrested as police expand their investigations into a possible larger criminal or ritual-related case.
