News candidate pops up for NPP General Secretary role
Former Member of Parliament for Bortianor‑Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, has officially announced his decision to run for the position of General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The former Deputy Information Minister made this known over the weekend during a workshop for constituency chairmen in the Ashanti Region.
Mr. Tetteh said he is ready to offer the bold, practical, and forward-thinking leadership the party needs as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.
“The NPP needs innovation, energy, and unity – and I am ready to serve.
“I have made up my mind to contest for the General Secretary position of our great party. The time has come to inject new energy, innovative ideas, and strategic thinking into the administrative leadership of the NPP,” he said in an interview on Nhyira FM’s Kukurantumi.
He highlighted the importance of building a united and vibrant party, rooted in effective communication, strong grassroots structures, and active youth involvement.
As a former Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Mr. Tetteh also pledged to conduct his campaign with respect and discipline, pointing out that while enthusiasm is important, it must never come at the expense of party unity.
