One feared dead, several injured in STC van and tricycle crash in Ho

One person is feared dead, and several others have been injured after a serious collision between an STC van and a tricycle near the Fidelity Bank stretch in Ho around 9:30 PM.

The STC van, reportedly speeding from the Accra direction, crashed into the tricycle with great force.

Eyewitnesses said the tricycle rider was found lying in a pool of blood, with severe head injuries and exposed brain matter, raising concerns that he may have died on the spot.

Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene and rushed the victims to the hospital for treatment.

A passenger in the STC van, Apostle Prosper Agbeti, blamed the crash on the driver’s reckless behaviour. He claimed the driver was on the phone multiple times during the journey while driving at high speed.

He also rejected suggestions from bystanders that the accident might have been due to brake failure, stressing that it was caused by negligence.

Other injured passengers, some with cuts and suspected fractures, have been sent to the Ho Teaching Hospital for urgent medical attention.
