Rare first of video of Chairman Wontumi after his release from EOCO
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has finally been released from the custody of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).
This happened on Monday, June 2, 2025, after he successfully met all the bail conditions that were given to him.
When he stepped out of EOCO, Chairman Wontumi was seen with the General Secretary of the NPP by his side. The two walked together quietly, drawing the attention of party supporters and media men who had gathered around.
Wontumi, who is usually lively and outspoken, looked very tired and worn out. It was clear that the days he spent in EOCO custody had taken a toll on him.
In a rare moment, he remained silent and didn’t say anything to the media or the crowd. Instead, he simply hugged some of the party supporters who had come to show him support.
Many of the onlookers were surprised by how calm and quiet he was, considering his usual bold and energetic nature. But for now, it seems Wontumi just wanted to go home and rest.
