Sad news hit Ghana Armed Forces
A Volkswagen Golf 4 believed to belong to a Ghana Armed Forces personnel went up in flames behind the Ghana Police Service headquarters in Accra on Monday, June 23, 2025.
A video from the scene shared by Metro TV captured the vehicle ablaze while bystanders expressed frustration over the absence of Ghana National Fire Service personnel.
Eyewitnesses criticized the fire service for the delay, especially since their headquarters is located just a few metres away from the incident.
When fire service officers finally arrived, they remained in their vehicle for some time, sparking more outrage. “Look, they are still in the car,” one bystander was heard saying. Another added, “Maybe there is no water.”
Eventually, the officers began spraying water into the burning car in an effort to contain the flames. Loud explosions could be heard from the vehicle as it continued to burn.
By the time the fire was completely extinguished, the car had been entirely destroyed.
