They came to all night, and accusing my wife of taking their money – Agradaa’s husband drops more details

Eric Oduro Asiamah, husband of Patricia Asiedua—popularly known as Nana Agradaa—has voiced his disappointment following her 15-year prison sentence handed down by the Accra Circuit Court.

Nana Agradaa, the founder of Heaven Way Champion Ministries International Church, was convicted on Thursday, July 3, 2025, on charges of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretences. The charges stemmed from a televised broadcast in 2022, during which she falsely claimed to have spiritual powers to double money, luring unsuspecting victims to part with large sums of cash.

Presiding judge Her Honour Evelyn Asamoah ruled that Agradaa carefully planned and executed the fraudulent scheme.

Speaking to journalists after the court ruling, Mr. Asiamah described the sentence as harsh and questioned the logic behind the conviction. He argued that those who gave money to his wife did so voluntarily and compared the payments to regular religious offerings.

“Don’t church members pay tithe and offering? There is no church that doesn’t accept money. These are some of the cons of doing God’s work. Physically, it’s difficult, but we look up to God,” he stated.

Despite the conviction, Agradaa appeared calm in court and is expected to begin serving her sentence immediately. However, her legal team is reportedly preparing to file an appeal in a bid to overturn the ruling.
