They’ll say I’m NPP after meeting you – Camera captures Suspended CJ telling Akosua Manu

Suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Sackey Torkornoo appeared in high spirits on Wednesday, June 25, as she shared a warm and cheerful moment with the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 parliamentary candidate for Adenta, Akosua Manu, also known as Kozie.

The encounter happened shortly after the Chief Justice finished a media briefing. A video circulating online shows Kozie embracing Mrs. Torkornoo with a warm hug, then greeting her husband, who stood nearby, with a handshake.

Dressed elegantly, Kozie introduced herself to the Chief Justice, who responded with a broad smile, saying, “Okay, this is my first time of meeting you.”

In a seemingly light-hearted remark, Mrs. Torkornoo added, “This is my first time of meeting you, but they will say I am NPP,” prompting laughter from those nearby. She turned to some onlookers, believed to be members of the media, and said again, “This is the first time I am meeting her, I beg you.”

After the brief interaction, the suspended Chief Justice entered her waiting Toyota Land Cruiser V8 and left the venue.

Mrs. Torkornoo is currently under suspension due to ongoing investigations. However, the encounter with Kozie offered a rare moment of levity amid her legal and political challenges.

Akosua Manu, popularly known as Kozie, is the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Adenta in the upcoming December elections. She is known for her grassroots work and strong media presence.
