This is how Aboubakar Ouattara reacts to the super clash against Kotoko
Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara says he is content with his team’s goalless draw against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko, despite setting out to claim all three points in Kumasi.
Speaking after the fiercely contested Super Clash, Ouattara admitted that the lack of goals was disappointing but lauded his side’s performance and attitude.
“I’ll take the draw. We came to win, but it’s a fair result,” he told the media. “I learnt a lot from this game and will discuss it with the boys.”
Although the Phobians created several chances, they were unable to find the back of the net—something Ouattara pinpointed as the main shortcoming.
“Our inability to score was what didn’t work,” he acknowledged.
Looking ahead, the coach expressed confidence in his team’s league prospects, reiterating their determination to climb the table.
“The league will be tough, but we’ll keep fighting for the top four, top two, or even the title. We’re not giving up,” he added.
The result keeps both sides in the title race, with Hearts now trailing league leaders Nations FC by eight points, while Kotoko sit just three points off the top.
