Two teachers clash over extra classes fees at Pepease D/A Basic School

In a disturbing incident that has shocked both parents and education stakeholders, two teachers at the Pepease D/A Basic School in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region were involved in a violent physical fight in front of their students.

Eyewitnesses say the clash happened during regular school hours and was caused by a disagreement over fees charged for extra classes.

According to reports, the argument between the two teachers started with an exchange of harsh words but quickly escalated into a full-blown fight. The chaos interrupted classes and left many pupils frightened and confused.

Several parents and community members who spoke to the media expressed anger and disappointment over the unprofessional conduct.

“This is highly unprofessional. Teachers are supposed to be role models for the children, not engage in fights in front of them,” one concerned parent said.

Following the incident, school authorities reported the matter to the Sekyere Kumawu District Directorate of Education. The Directorate has since launched preliminary investigations to determine the full facts of the matter and decide on the appropriate disciplinary action.

A spokesperson at the District Education Office confirmed that the case is being treated with urgency and seriousness, stating that any action taken will be in accordance with Ghana Education Service (GES) regulations.
