The Upper West Regional Police Command has secured a conviction against 19-year-old Adams Hamidu, also known as Gyida, who has been sentenced to 20 years in prison with hard labour for robbery.

The Wa Circuit Court delivered the judgment on June 5, 2025.

Gyida, along with another masked accomplice, committed the robbery in February 2025. They stole a blue Honda motorcycle worth GH¢20,000, a Tecno mobile phone valued at GH¢1,300, and GH¢10,800 in cash from their victim.

Police arrested Gyida on June 1, 2025, during an intelligence-led operation at Domowa in the Wa West District.

The police say this conviction highlights their strong commitment to protecting the public and enforcing the law.
