Veteran Ghanaian sports journalist dead
Former President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Ackah Anthony, has died. SWAG confirmed that the veteran sports journalist passed away early Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Police Hospital in Accra.
Ackah Anthony was the sixth president of SWAG, serving from 2007 to 2015. His eight-year leadership is remembered for transforming the association into a more professional and influential body.
During his tenure, he implemented reforms that strengthened SWAG’s structure and extended its presence across the country.
We just have received the unfortunate news of the passing of our 6th President,
Mrs Ackah confirms the sad incident happened at the early hours of today.
The late Ackah Anthony was President for SWAG from 2007 to 2015.
