VIDEO: Actress Ahuofe Patri scammed

Ghanaian actress Ahuofe Patri has shared her shocking experience of being scammed while trying to order fried rice and chicken from the popular eatery, Papaye.

In a video, the former Boys Kasa actress narrated how she was hit with hunger during a film shoot and decided to order food.

“The restaurant was close by, but I didn’t want to risk leaving the set and disrupting the schedule, so I decided to order for delivery instead,” she recounted.

She searched online for Papaye’s contact and quickly got in touch with someone claiming to be a representative of the restaurant.

“They asked me to make payment before delivery, and even though I was hesitant, I decided to go ahead,” she said.

“I told them I wasn’t comfortable giving out the code, but they insisted it was necessary to complete the transaction,” she narrated.

“I received multiple messages authorizing a withdrawal of 300 cedis from my account. I quickly canceled the transaction,” she said.

“I told the staff what had happened, and they informed me that other customers had also been scammed. But what shocked me the most was their indifference. They didn’t involve a manager or show any urgency to address the issue,” she lamented.

After making the payment, she received a code via SMS with a warning to keep it private. Despite this, she got another call asking for the code.

Hesitantly, Ahuofe shared the code and soon realized she had been tricked by fraudsters.

Still determined to get her food, she went to the restaurant to buy it herself. However, she was surprised by the lack of concern from the staff when she raised her concerns.
