VIDEO: Why is Okyehene’s convoy in Akyem Old Tafo?

The convoy of Okyehene Osagyefo Amotia Ofori-Panin, Overlord of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, made a grand entrance into Akyem Old Tafo on Saturday, June 21, 2025, for the durbar of the Ohumkan Festival celebrated by the local chiefs and people.

The Okyehene arrived in a sleek black Rolls Royce, accompanied by his entourage in several four-wheel-drive vehicles, including Toyota Land Cruisers and Lexus cars.

This year’s festival coincided with the 40th anniversary celebration of Daasebre Adusei Peasah IV, Omanhene of Akyem Tafo.

The 2025 Ohumkan Festival began with a ban on drumming and noise-making from June 3 to June 17 and continued with a week-long series of events including cultural displays, inter-school competitions, and health activities.
