Watch the aura as Asantehene leaves Accra

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, departed Accra for Kumasi on Monday, June 23, 2025, after a three-day visit to the capital.

A viral video shared on social media captured the moment the Asantehene left the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

The footage showed his convoy, including several luxury vehicles, arriving at the airport.

Before his departure, the Asantehene had a brief meeting with Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International. The two were seen exchanging pleasantries, handshakes, and laughter.

He then boarded the Dzata plane, the private jet owned by Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama. The video captured the plane taking off smoothly into the sky.

The Asantehene was in Accra to attend the graduation ceremony of his son, Oheneba Kwame Kyeretwie, who graduated from DPS International on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

During his visit, he also paid a courtesy call on President John Dramani Mahama at his private residence.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is expected to host the King of Eswatini, Mswati III, in Kumasi on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
