We still welcome who wish to study, invest – U.S. Embassy reassures Ghanaians amid travel ban reports
The United States Embassy in Accra has assured Ghanaians that they are still welcome in the U.S., despite growing concerns about a possible travel ban.

The reassurance comes in the wake of reports that the Trump administration is considering expanding its travel restrictions to include up to 36 more countries—potentially including Ghana.
In a public statement, the Embassy said:
“We remain committed to welcoming visitors from Ghana who wish to study, invest, or engage in business activities in the United States.”
This response follows a Reuters report indicating that the U.S. government is reviewing an internal State Department memo recommending an extension of current travel bans.
Though there has been no official announcement about which countries might be affected, the leak has caused concern and speculation in Ghana and other regions.
However, the U.S. Embassy in Accra made it clear that Ghanaians with legitimate reasons to travel—such as students, investors, and businesspeople—have nothing to worry about.
