You should remember our love for this country – Dr Bryan Acheampong tells NPP

The Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to put recent internal tensions and divisions behind them and focus on unity, discipline, and maturity as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.

In a statement issued on June 13, 2025, Dr. Acheampong urged party leaders and members to rekindle hope within the grassroots and all levels of the party.

“As we prepare to reposition our Party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), we must stay focused on efforts to rebuild and rebrand. Tensions have risen, evident through exchanges on social media. While passionate political discourse is natural, division and hostility only serve to weaken us,” the statement said.

He emphasized that party leadership must lead the charge to restore unity and instill discipline as they seek to regain public trust and energy.

“What is required of us all, and in particular the leadership of the party, is to ensure that hope is restored through unity of purpose, maturity in conduct, and discipline in our ranks as we canvass for a renewed energy and commitment to the course,” he stated.

Dr. Acheampong also called for a renewed commitment to the party’s core principles.

“I urge all party members, from the grassroots to the top leadership, to remember what binds us: our shared values, our love for country, and our belief in a thriving Mother Ghana,” he said.

He cautioned that ongoing divisions and internal wrangling could threaten the NPP’s efforts to rebuild its image and rally support ahead of the next election cycle.

“Now is the time to rise above factions and forge a new path built on collaboration, courage, and credibility,” he noted.

He concluded by encouraging members to put aside personal interests and work together through dialogue and cooperation.

“Let us set aside personal differences, engage in constructive discourse, and stay committed to the values that brought us together. This is not just about moving past disagreements; it is about working together, disciplined and united, to build a stronger future for our Party,” the statement said.
