2024 Elections: Daily Searchlight Managing Editor goes independent in Okaikwei North

The Managing Editor of the Daily Searchlight newspaper, Kenneth Adjei Kuranchie, has openly declared his dire intention to lead Okaikwei North Constituency and he has, therefore, announced his intention to contest as an independent candidate.

Speaking on Angel Morning Show, Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Mr. Kuranchie expressed concerns that the the New Patriotic Party (NPP) hasn’t recognized his contributions to the Okaikoi North constituency despite his long residency and understanding of the area’s problems. He suggested that, the New Patriotic Party went in for an outsider to lead the constituency leaving someone like him who is well vested with knowledge about the constituency.

The veteran Journalist pointed out that developing the human resources in the constituency is crucial for national development. He added that educated population fuels innovation, job creation, and overall economic growth. He, however, stated that there have been no efforts over the years to improve the living conditions of the citizens of the constituency.

“I’ve not see any extraneous hard effort to improve the conditions of the people in terms of education, health after 38 years of living in my constituency”. He mentioned.

Kenneth Adjei Kuranchie is a popular figure in the New Patriotic Party who has contested the Okaikwei North Parliamentary Candidature three times and has unfortunately lost on all occasions. The current Parliamentary candidate is Nana Ama Dokua.
