Bawumia possesses the qualities to bring Mamprusis and Kusasis together – Allotey Jacobs

Bernard Allotey Jacobs has eulogized the Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for taking it upon himself to restore unite the residents at Bawku in the Upper East Region.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called for a truce between the Mamprusis and Kusasis involved in the chieftaincy dispute in Bawku.

As a part of his “Thank You” tour to the Region, the Vice President implored the Chiefs and residents unite for sustainable development in the area, stressing the two factions are “fundamentally the same people”.

“As a son of the North, I am very pained by the conflict that we have in Bawku between Kusasis and Mamprusis over Chieftaincy”, Dr. Bawumia said when he visited the town on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

He stressed “this conflict has led to needless loss of lives and disrupted economic activity and development in Bawku” and hoped the residents will heed his plea and iron out their long-lived differences.

“Fundamentally, we are really one people. We have intermarried over the years and our languages are very similar. I believe with every bone in my body that it is possible to have peace and harmony between Kusasis and Mamprusis in Bawku and I will work towards that. We have to work towards it. It is possible”, the NPP flagbearer further admonished.

Reacting to the Veep’s call, the former NDC Central Regional Chairman, Bernard Allotey Jacobs believed Dr. Bawumia possesses the qualities to bring the Mamprusis and Kusasis together, hence vouching for him to become President of Ghana in 2025.

“I believe sincerely that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as President of the Republic of Ghana, will solve the Bawku conflict”, he said on Peace FM’s”Kokrokoo” show, adding that the Vice President’s interest in finding lasting solutions to the Bawku conflict “shows that he is the rising star from the Northern Region”.
