Chelsea reportedly now have a Mauricio Pochettino succession plan in place should they look to part ways with their manager.
It seems like the pressure is still very much on the Argentine to improve results and performances, with every game being dissected closely now.

Insider Ben Jacobs has the very latest on the situation in his exclusive and extensive Chelsea column written for SPTC today.
Jacobs says that Chelsea are trying to do all they can to stick with Pochettino until at least the end of the summer. However, he also says that that could soon change if the next couple of results do not go their way.
Most clubs will have a succession plan in place for if/when they need to replace the manager, I guess just as part of due diligence. And Chelsea are no different.
Jacobs says: “As things stand, Chelsea still want to make it work with Pochettino. Things can change very quickly if results don’t come soon, and that’s just football, but the idea that Chelsea are as of now actively pursuing anyone is incorrect to my understanding.
“What’s happening instead is that Chelsea are succession planning. People tend to read the previous paragraph and then take it out of context. It can be true that a manager still has their fate in their own hands and clubs are discussing alternatives. This is because succession planning is normal for any well-run organisation. Some even start it with managers or players on the day they sign.”

Jacobs continues: “Although the likes of Roberto De Zerbi and Sporting boss Ruben Amorim (who was considered just before Graham Potter joined) have been discussed, any contact with either is downplayed by sources. It is also not thought De Zerbi would pick Chelsea either.
“Hansi Flick and Eddie Howe (should he become available) would both be considered, but it’s still too early to be talking of shortlists.”
