Chelsea “will sell” 24 year old this summer says transfer expert

Chelsea “will sell” Trevoh Chalobah at the end of the season according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The Blues are experiencing another disappointing campaign and find themselves in the bottom half of the table and facing an uphill battle to qualify for European football next season.

The Blues will no doubt be opening the chequebook again this summer as they look to add a proven striker to their ranks.

Given the difficulty surrounding the club’s financial situation they are expected to fund any spending through selling a number of academy graduates.

One player expected to be moved on is Trevoh Chalobah who recently returned to action following a long lay off with injury.

It’s been a frustrating season for the 24 year old who was very close to joining Bayern Munich last summer but the two clubs were unable to agree a fee.

Nottingham Forest agreed a fee with Chelsea for Chalobah but the defender didn’t want to move to The City Ground.

The Blues have a lot of competition for places in defence with Chalobah competing against Thiago Silva, Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile and Alfie Gilchrist.

Jacobs believes Chalobah will be sold this summer and told GiveMeSport: “I think Chalobah is a player that Chelsea will sell, and the start against Brentford was partly down to being fit. So, it’s not so much that he’s been shunned as injured, but it’s clear that he’s not right there at the top of the pecking order.”
