A man named Edwin Osiris C.R. has been sentenced to five years in prison for biting off his wife’s clitor1s during a se.xual act.
The incident took place at their residence in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Spain, and the Court of Barcelona found him guilty of assaulting his wife, whom he had been married for 12 years and with whom he shares two children.
Despite her agonizing cries, he forcefully removed a section of her cli.toris and one of her labia, discarding them on the floor. Following the assault, he fled their home and attempted to flee the country, but was apprehended by Catalonia’s Mossos police in Lleida after 22 days.
The judge acquitted him of sexual assault due to the inability to prove non-consent, and the charge of genital mutilation was not considered as his wife still retained some sensation and functionality in her private parts after the incident. However, he was convicted of causing injury.
In addition to his prison sentence, he has been prohibited from approaching his wife within a 1,000-feet radius for six years. It should be noted that his wife did not testify during the trial as her current whereabouts are unknown.
