Not impressed! – Otto Addo laments players attitude

Otto Addo, head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, has stated he is “not really impressed” with the attitude of players in training.

The former Dortmund player returns to take over full-time as head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana following the dismissal of Englishman Chris Hughton.

Otto Addo, in his presser before his side takes on Uganda on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, disclosed that he has not been impressed with the attitude of his charges in practice sessions.

“Not really impressed but may be surprised a little bit. I didn’t expect this, especially with the young players play at a high level, really, really good. I think we made a good choice in bringing them into the camp.”

However, he is encouraged to see that Ghana has a bright future, with current youngsters in camp and others coming up.

“We are already preparing for the future, and this is really, really good to see that the young guys coming up are knocking on the door to enter the national team.”

Knowing the Ghana Football Association’s eagerness to see the success of the Ghana Football DNA and philosophy, the head coach has warned the older players of the young ones’ hunger to break through but believes it will help make the team better.

“The players who have been there for a longer time have to be aware because the young guys are hungry, they are good, they are developing and like I said this what will make us all better.”
