NPP has not been fair Ghanaians in… – Former NPP Dep General Secretary

Private Legal Practitioner, Nana Obiri Boahen paid a visit to NPP Germany branch to interact with party folks. The members of NPP Germany gave attorney Nana Obiri Boahen a hearty reception.

During his conversation with the party members, he related that they told him their hearts were broken when he announced his resignation from the party.

“A particular taxi driver informed me that after hearing about my resignation, he was unable to report to work. If he had gone to work that day, he claimed he would not have had a stable mind to work.”

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen stated in an interview that the NPP has a large following and is very strong in the diaspora.

In reflection on his trip to Germany, he declared that if the NPP loses the presidential sea t in the next elections, lives will be lost.

“The NPP is more than just a political organization. It is time for the party’s leadership to acknowledge that the NPP is more than just a typical political party because it transcends politics and is almost like a religion.”

However, the former NPP Deputy General Secretary said the country has not been fair to the Ghanaians in diaspora by not allowing them to exercise their franchise.

In light of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s digitalization agenda, he expressed hope that the Representation of the People Amendment Act (ROPAA), 2006 (Act 699) would be passed and enable Ghanaians living abroad to cast ballots in general elections.
