“Really, really happy” – Gusto on hearing fans sing Bob Marley

Malo Gusto has revealed that hearing Chelsea fans sing Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds makes him “really happy.”

Gusto is having a brilliant first season with the Blues following his arrival from French side Lyon last summer and has established himself as a fan favourite.

The 20 year old has probably featured more than he expected to given the injuries that club captain Reece James has suffered this season.

The former Lyon man has been a real threat going forward as well as proving to be very capable defensively and has provided five assists including a superb cross for Nicolas Jackson in last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Brentford.

It’s been a tough season for Chelsea and the fans haven’t had much to cheer about but speaking to Sky Sports Gusto revealed one particular song the fans sing makes him really happy.

“One moment I stopped myself and I heard this, and I was really, really happy. After, I just tried to focus on the game and do my best.”

“I love this song [Three Little Birds]. We are very happy to have these kind of fans. We know the English people love football and that’s the difference to the French, but it’s a good thing for the team to have these fans behind us and to have them.”

The fans will be hoping for a response from Gusto and his team mates on Monday night as the Blues aim to climb back into the top half of the table and close the gap on the European places.
