Upper East Region: Monkey Pox kills soldier

According to reports from the Upper East Region, one person has died as a result of the deadly Monkey Pox.

According to Dr. Emmanuel Kofi Dzotsi, Upper East Regional Health Director of the Ghana Health Service, the individual is military personnel.

The officer was admitted on Saturday, July 23, 2022, and died on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

The Regional Health Director, speaking to Bolgatanga-based A1 Radio, urged the public to be cautious and to take the necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

“All that I can say is that yes, we have recorded one case and the person has died. I will not be able to give further information because we will brief the media in the coming days,” he is reported to have said.
