Watch: Nigeria’s Victor Boniface mocks Kudus after scoring against West Ham

Victor Boniface took the rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria to the next level after hitting Mohammed Kudus’ iconic celebration during the Europa League game between Bayer Leverkusen and West Ham United.

The 23-year-old scored late as the German side defeated the Hammers 2-0 in the first leg of their quarter-final clash.

Boniface rose high to head home a cross from Jonas Hoffman to hand Leverkusen the crucial second goal before their trip to London.

In a video shared on social media, Boniface runs to the advertising board to have a sit just like Kudus does when he scores. The move is seen as a subtle jab to the Ghanaian with the two seen as rivals.

West Ham has an arduous task of overturning the result in the second leg in London in a fortnight.

However, Xabi Alonso and his men are keeping alive the hopes of winning an unprecedented treble, having reached the final of the DFB Pokal.
