2023/24 Ghana Premier League week 23: Real Tamale United 1-0 Accra Lions – Report

Real Tamale United edged Accra Lions 1-0 at the Golden City Park in Berekum in a 2023/24 Ghana Premier League match week 23 clash.

The win was the Northern Blues’ first in six games while playing their last game away at their adopted home because of the ban the club is in and also because the Tamale Stadium is in bad state to host matches.

It was the Accra Lions’ first defeat after three consecutive wins that has seen them score nine goals.

Despite the win RTU remain bottom of the league with 22 points while Accra Lions are 12th with 30 points.

Real Tamale United took the lead after 31 minutes through Mohammed Alhassan Munkuyeli, giving them a much-needed lead from the penalty spot.

There were no further goals in the game as it ended in a 1-0 win for the hosts.

Real Tamale United will next play away to Aduana FC in match week 24 at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.

Meanwhile, Accra Lions will take on Bofoakwa Tano at the WAFA Park in Sogakope.
