Victor Gyokeres is such an interesting topic right now.
He’s long been linked to Chelsea, and that’s only intensified in recent weeks as he reached the sensational total of 50 goals plus assists for the season. Yet Caughtoffside are reporting that he’s fallen behind Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko in the Blues’ list of priorities for a striker this summer.
This feels like the kind of situation which could be debated even long after a move is made – or isn’t made.
On the one hand, there’s just no arguing with his output, and an efficient player in the box is just what Chelsea need.
On the other hand, we can totally see why some would be wary of a player “stat padding” in a weaker league. Gyokeres is so physically dominant in Portugal, in a way he wouldn’t be in the Premier League. That might not just take away his edge, it might take away his whole arsenal.
