Chelsea’s key man trains with England and should be ready for tough run in

Reports from England training today carried in the Evening Standard say that Cole Palmer is back in England training, and was with the group working at Wembley today ahead of tomorrow night’s friendly against Belgium.

That’s fantastic news for Chelsea fans, who were left sweating when their star boy missed out against Brazil at the weekend.

Hopefully he gets at most an hour tomorrow night, and is then wrapped up in cotton wool to keep him fresh for our run in, which starts on Saturday afternoon with a monster must win game against Burnley. He’s played a lot for us this season, and considering how little he had played at senior level in his career before, this has been a massive physical test.

So far so good – he’s been one of few players in our squad to not pick up a significant injury all season. But there is still a decent bit of risk to be managed before the season is out.
