E/R: JHS 3 student ‘arrested’ for farting in front of chief’s house

A Junior High School (JHS) 3 student accused of passing gas in front of the house of a community leader has been dragged before elders of Anomabo community in the Eastern Region.

The ‘Amankrado’ (chief) who raised the issue before the elders is said to perceive the student’s fart near his house as a personal attack on him. He has therefore petitioned the elders of the community to impose a fifty Ghana Cedi (GHC 50) fine on the student.

Before the summon, the mother of the 18-year-old student approached the Amankrado to seek forgiveness on behalf of her child but he declined the plea.

Unfortunately, the elders dismissed the case. The unfavorable verdict allegedly caused the Amankrado to have a confrontation with one of the elders.

Information suggests that the Amankrado and the family of the accused have not on speaking terms for years now, and that the former was stepping on the recent event to ignite an old feud.
