Hello and welcome to the live coverage of Chelsea’s Premier League match with Brentford. The Blues will be hoping to make it three games unbeaten in the top-flight this afternoon as they make the short trip to the Gtech Community Stadium.
Chelsea have had a very busy week after losing to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final six days ago and following that up with a narrow victory over Leeds United in the FA Cup fifth round. Meanwhile, the Bees have had a bit more of a rest, with their last match being away at West Ham United on Monday night.
Brentford have actually lost their last three games with defeats against the Hammers and before that Manchester City and Liverpool. But Thomas Frank’s side did beat Chelsea in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
Back towards the end of October, goals from Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo ensured Brentford continued their impressive record against their west London rivals. Chelsea have beaten the Bees just once since they were promoted to the Premier League. That came in October 2021, where Ben Chilwell scored the only goal of the game.
